Takeshi Ohfuchi, the designer behind Post O’Alls and one of the figures most responsible for bringing Japanese attention to the American workwear coverall, is releasing his first book. Titled simply Vintage Coverall, the volume arrives July 18, 2026 — a 208-page, full-color archive of approximately 250 coverall jackets spanning from pre-1920s rarities to post-1960s pieces.
The book draws from Ohfuchi’s own collection, assembled over four decades of focused pursuit, but extends outward into the wider community he has shaped. Contributions came from NIGO®, Kei Hemmi of TIME WORN CLOTHING, KIRO of KAPITAL, Setsumasa Kobayashi of …..RESEARCH, and Shinichi Nakasone of Labrador Retriever — a cross-section of the Japanese fashion world’s most committed vintage thinkers. Shops including SUNTRAP, PIGSTY, and COSMIC JUMPER also opened their archives for the project. Styling is by Manabu Harada.
Beyond the photography, the book includes a roundtable discussion tracing the vintage coverall market over the past 40 years — a format that turns the archive into something closer to oral history. The coverall, long overlooked in favor of denim or military surplus, gets here the monograph it has always deserved: one built by someone who has spent a lifetime inside it.
All text is in English. Vintage Coverall is priced at ¥11,000 (tax incl.) and available from July 18 at Post O’Alls Shibuya, Post O’Alls Nakameguro, the online store, and select stockists including COSMIC JUMPER, PIGSTY, and TIMEWORN CLOTHING.
