The collaboration between nonnative and rig footwear has produced some of the most thoughtfully considered footwear in Japanese streetwear in recent years, and the BAHARINI — releasing June 6 — continues that trajectory.
An original design conceived specifically for this project, the BAHARINI takes the humble flip-flop as its starting point and refines it through an engineering lens. A wide strap configuration distributes hold across a broader area of the foot, a rope material construction softens contact points, and rig footwear's newly developed sole unit provides the cushioned base. The result is a sandal that wears its utilitarian origins lightly while performing meaningfully better than its references.
Available in navy and black, the BAHARINI releases at the nonnative shop in Daikanyama, COVERCHORD, and authorized nonnative retailers.
