NEIGHBORHOOD × THE SMASHING PUMPKINS

By NEIGHBORHOOD

Tokyo-based label NEIGHBORHOOD has unveiled its first-ever collaboration with The Smashing Pumpkins, set to launch on Saturday, June 6. The project brings together two icons from opposite ends of the Pacific — one a pillar of Japanese street culture since 1994, the other a defining force in alternative rock from Chicago's early-1990s underground.

The collection takes the band's visual legacy as its raw material. Central to the lineup is the iconic album artwork from Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness (1995), Billy Corgan's sprawling double-album that remains one of the decade's most ambitious statements. Additional graphic references draw from across the band's catalogue, each printed onto original cotton jersey bodies constructed in-house by NEIGHBORHOOD.

The garments themselves — six T-shirt styles in total — have been treated with a proprietary finishing process that imparts a worn, vintage character from the first wear. It's a technique NEIGHBORHOOD has long favored: the idea that clothing should feel lived-in, not new. The result is a series of pieces that sit somewhere between archive and artifact.

Sales will be handled exclusively through NEIGHBORHOOD's flagship stores and authorized retailers, as well as the brand's online store, beginning June 6.
