FRAGMENT HOLLINGBORN BROGUE

By Dr. Martens × fragment design

Dr. Martens and fragment design — Hiroshi Fujiwara's influential Tokyo-based creative collective — have announced a new collaboration: the FRAGMENT HOLLINGBORN BROGUE, releasing on Thursday, June 18. The shoe marks a continuation of the two brands' shared investment in the craftsmanship and character of classic British footwear.

For the collaboration, Dr. Martens' HOLLINGBORN — a five-eyelet Oxford exclusive to fragment design — has been reconceived as a long wingtip brogue. The redesign retains the original silhouette's structure while extending it with broguing details that lend the shoe a formal yet expressive character. All elements have been rendered in black: high-shine patent leather uppers, black eyelets, black corded laces, a black welt with tonal stitching, and Dr. Martens' signature AirCushion sole. The shoe is finished by hand in England.

A subtle lightning bolt logo — fragment design's identifying mark — appears near the heel, offering the one moment of distinction in an otherwise monochromatic composition. The restraint of the design reflects the shared ethos of both collaborators: to let material and craft do the talking, rather than graphic embellishment.

The FRAGMENT HOLLINGBORN BROGUE is priced at ¥48,400 (tax included) and will be available at Dr. Martens' online store, Dr. Martens SHOWROOM TYO, and Dover Street Market Ginza from June 18.
