COLLABORATION SANDAL

By DESCENDANT × Scott Hawaii

DESCENDANT and Scott Hawaii — a 1932-founded Hawaiian footwear institution — have collaborated on a sandal that speaks to both brands' deep affection for the American leisure archive. DESCENDANT, the Tokyo label known for its studied approach to military and outdoor-adjacent references, brings its signature restraint to Scott Hawaii's heritage silhouette, recasting it in a blue-grey tonal palette that feels simultaneously sun-worn and intentional.

The sandal itself features Scott Hawaii's own dual-layer sole construction paired with a nylon strap incorporating elastic material — a setup that prioritizes comfort and durability without compromising the low-profile aesthetic. The result is a shoe that reads as a natural extension of both brands' sensibilities: functional in origin, refined in execution.

The collaboration extends into apparel, with a T-shirt, six-panel cap, and a polyester-spandex rash guard completing the lineup. Ron Herman, the Japanese multi-brand retailer acting as the primary stockist, is also offering an exclusive ringer T-shirt in heather grey with navy rib trim — a colorway tailored specifically for the Ron Herman customer.

The launch weekend opens with a reception party at Ron Herman Sendagaya on June 12th, featuring a live set by YOUR SONG IS GOOD, the Tokyo funk-soul band whose sun-drenched sound makes them an apt soundtrack for the occasion. The collaborative sandal drops across stockists on June 13th.
